Albany is also home to Capital News 9 - a Time Warner, 24-hour news station that provides 'round-the-clock local news to residents in and around the city. We're in an exciting location - with a fast-paced environment that changes daily.
Capital News 9 launched on October 11, 2002, and is a fully integrated local news organization that operates on a completely digital platform. News 9 offers the Capital Region of New York the only 24/7 news report and uses state of the art fiber, computers, broadcast and transmission technology to bring it into the homes of over 321,000 Time Warner Cable customers.
Unlike our competitors, our video is captured by the crews on the streets and "ingested" into computer servers. Immediately made available for all functions of the news and webcast operation, this type of newscast is completely new to the industry. In fact, only 8 other television stations (all Time Warner owned and operated) in the world have this type of advanced "broadcast" technology. The way in which a news story goes from an event to an on-air report is seamless, fast and reliable. As such, our staff is world-class.
As leaders in the industry, we have increased the level of service to the Time Warner Cable customer and, by doing so, have created a value to an existing product that all Cable, Broadcast and Entertainment outlets are striving to achieve.

About Our Office
Located in a converted bowling center at 104 Watervliet Avenue Extension, in Albany, our office building pays homage to its history with a bowling lane right in the lobby. Our offices are easily accessible from I-90. We currently have 93 employees who have come to us from across the United States.
